MICHAEL SCOTT CAPLAN, CFP®
Michael leverages his background in mathematics and his experience as an attorney to focus in wealth management for individuals and businesses. With an emphasis on wealth preservation strategies and in developing financial plans specifically tailored to clients' needs, Michael prepares allocation models using complex algorithms to minimize risk and to increase the expected rate of return of a client's overall portfolio. As a Private Wealth Advisor, Michael provides a full range of wealth management services including: retirement advice, charitable pursuits, education funding, estate planning, risk management, investment management and business strategies.
Michael received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1991, with honors, with a focus on mathematical modeling and economics. He thereafter received his law degree in 1995, with honors. His law practice initially focused in the area of private equity and hedge fund law where he frequently handled complex transactions for executives of multinational corporations, including advising corporations on investments in both public and private companies. Michael was selected to be a Fellow at Georgetown's Institute of International Economic Law and also was an adjunct law professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to a career in the financial services industry, Michael worked for some of the most prestigious law firms in Washington DC and New York, NY.
Michael enjoys all that Colorado has to offer: skiing, mountain climbing and hiking. When he isn’t outside, you can find him spending time with his wonderful wife, Janelle, his 17-year old triplets (two girls and a boy) and 13-year old son.
Jodi focuses on operations and productivity at Invictus Private Wealth to create a seamless experience for our clients. Her strong background of over 20 years in the financial services industry includes management and operations roles.
Jodi was selected as the Valedictorian of her class at Regis University (Denver, Colorado) and graduated with high honors in 1996. Upon graduation, she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in French.
She moved from Denver, CO to the Tampa, FL area with her husband Chris, daughter Brianna and two cats in 2017. In her free time Jodi enjoys spending time with her family and friends on the surrounding beautiful beaches and hosting out of town guests.

As Head of Wealth Planning, Sydney focuses on strengthening relationships with clients and their families to deliver tailored solutions that align with everyone’s unique long-term goals and aspirations. She brings her passionate work ethic and enthusiasm into creating comprehensive wealth strategies, optimizing client portfolios, and enhancing financial planning services. Sydney holds specialized training as a Certified Financial Planner ™.
Since beginning her financial services career in 2018, Sydney has accumulated diverse experience across the industry, including roles from Human Resources to Chief of Staff and Wealth Strategy. Her broad background and deep understanding of the operational framework of the financial services sector have honed her analytical skills and expertise in both technology and organizational development.
Sydney graduated with distinction from the University of Maryland - College Park in 2018, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a Minor in Business.
Sydney moved from New York City to Denver, Colorado in 2021 to be closer to the mountains and national parks – she loves to hike and ski. In her free time, she enjoys going to see live music with friends and trying new restaurants.
JESSICA LAUREN DOWDY
Jessica joined Invictus Private Wealth as a Relationship Manager in July 2024, embarking on her first career venture into the finance industry after a rewarding five-year tenure in Healthcare. Graduating with honors from Oregon State University in 2020, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Pre-Medical Studies. Her rigorous academic background provided a strong analytical foundation and deep insights into human behavior— skills she now applies to analyzing financial data and understanding clients’ unique financial goals.
In her previous healthcare roles, Jessica developed exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, mastering empathy, clear communication, and personalized care. These attributes naturally translate into her finance role, where she excels at building and nurturing strong client relationships. Her ability to listen attentively and offer customized financial solutions reflects her commitment to providing tailored and thoughtful support.
Having recently relocated from Portland, Oregon to Denver, Colorado in April 2023, Jessica is enthusiastic about embracing new opportunities in a city renowned for its sunny skies and mountainous landscapes. Outside of work, she enjoys a range of activities, including volunteering, hiking, and fly fishing.
